Good news is for sharing

“Then they said one to another, We do not well: this day is a day of good tidings, and we hold our peace: if we tarry till the morning light, some mischief will come upon us: now therefore come, that we may go and tell the king’s household.”2 Kings 7:9 · KJV

Read in your Bible: 2 Kings 6–7.

Samaria suffers under siege until a surprising reversal empties the enemy camp. Four men excluded by their disease discover abundant provision and realise they should not keep the news to themselves. Their action brings relief to a city facing starvation.

Good news creates a responsibility beyond private enjoyment. The story also notices people whom the city had pushed to its edge; they become messengers of life-saving information. Its sudden deliverance does not promise that every crisis will end quickly, but it challenges selfishness when help is available.

Share useful information or resources that could relieve another person's burden. Ask whether you are overlooking someone because they seem socially marginal. Let gratitude move outward instead of becoming contentment that your own needs have been met.
