A prayer that waits

“Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD.”Psalms 27:14 · KJV

Read in your Bible: Psalms 27–33.

Psalm 27 joins confident praise with urgent requests for God's presence and help. The surrounding psalms likewise move between distress, confession and thanksgiving. Waiting appears within an active relationship with God rather than as a denial that danger exists.

Biblical waiting is not a command to remain in preventable harm or neglect available help. It is a refusal to let delay alone decide that God is unworthy of trust. Prayer can ask urgently while we continue the responsible actions within our reach.

Name a matter that remains unresolved. Pray honestly about it and choose one practical duty you can fulfil today. Let another trusted person share the burden rather than making silence or isolation the measure of your faith.

What useful action remains possible while I wait for an outcome I cannot control?

AN EVERYDAY ACT OF LOVE

Share one unresolved concern with a trustworthy person and complete one present responsibility.

Let us pray

Patient Father, sustain me where answers remain unclear. Help me wait without abandoning responsibility, seek support without shame and remain attentive to the faithful step available to me today. Amen.
