At Your word
Read in your Bible: Luke 4–5.
Jesus announces good news in Nazareth, meets resistance and continues His ministry of teaching and healing. At the lake, Simon responds to an instruction after a fruitless night's work and is drawn into a new calling. Others also leave established patterns to follow Christ.
Simon's particular catch is not a formula for guaranteed business success. The account centres Jesus' authority and a person's response to Him. Following may challenge pride, habits and priorities, while our own decisions still need Scripture, practical wisdom and responsible care for those affected.
Identify a clear teaching of Jesus that challenges your established pattern. Respond in one manageable way without demanding a dramatic result. If facing a major change, seek wise counsel instead of treating an impulse as equivalent to Simon's direct encounter.

Lord Jesus, help me respond to Your clear teaching with humility. Give me courage for a faithful step, wise counsel for major choices and freedom from making success the condition of obedience. Amen.
