Made holy for service

“And I will dwell among the children of Israel, and will be their God.”Exodus 29:45 · KJV

Read in your Bible: Exodus 29–30.

The consecration of priests includes washing, clothing and sacrifices. The daily offerings and incense form part of Israel's sanctuary life. God again states His intention to dwell among the people He brought out of Egypt.

Sacred service begins with God's provision, not a priest's claim to personal superiority. The repeated ancient offerings reveal the seriousness of sin while pointing Christian readers toward Christ's once-for-all sacrifice. Their repetition is not a requirement to repeat His saving death.

Bring your service to God without pretending you are sufficient for it. Receive Christ's cleansing and intercession, then serve with care. The people entrusted to you need honesty and humility more than a flawless public image.
