The living Lord among His churches
Read in your Bible: Jude 1; Revelation 1–2.
Jude warns against destructive conduct while directing believers to God's keeping power. Revelation opens with the risen Jesus among His churches, holding the keys of death and the grave. His messages know their work, suffering, failures and need for repentance.
Revelation begins with Christ's identity, not a demand to become expert in alarming charts. His authority gives confidence and makes correction meaningful. The churches are not beyond rebuke, yet His presence offers a reason to hear and return rather than to despair.
Read the opening vision with attention to who Jesus is. Bring one area of needed correction before Him and one fear about the future. Let the living Lord occupy more of your attention than the latest confident prediction.

What would change if Christ's identity were the starting point of my study of Revelation?
Read Revelation 1 slowly and write one truth about Christ that can guide today's conduct.
Let us pray
Living Lord, steady me through Your victory over death. Help me hear correction, return with trust and study Revelation with You at the centre rather than fear, pride or speculative excitement. Amen.
